Joseph may leave Kerala Congress but continue in UDF

Thiruvananthapuram:UDF may lose Kottayam and Idukki due to the jiff between Kerala Congress chairman K M Mani and vice-chairman P J Joseph over the candidature of the latter in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. It is unlikely that Joseph to contest as rebel candidate in the election which will be a great relief for the UDF leaders. But what is worrying the UDF is that as a mark of protest against denying seat for their leaders,  workers of the Joseph faction may not active in the election campaign. The faction has considerable presence in Kottayam and Idukki districts.

It is said Joseph group will part the way from Kerala Congress after the Lok Sabha polls and continue in UDF as a partner of the front. The Congress has conceded this demand of Joseph, it is understood.

Meanwhile, difference is simmering in Kerala Congress over the denial of the set to Joseph. Youth Front president Saji Manjakadamban has gone on record that Joseph’s request for the seat should have been considered.

A section in the Mani group alleges that Jose K Mani, M P is running the show in the party and he is silencing all the senior leaders.
